Howard Hodgkin Prints
This exhibition organised and toured by Barbican Art Gallery London, dispenses a whole new range of Hodgkin print works by an artist mainly known as an oil painter, and demonstrates how highly skilled he is in this alternative art medium.
Howard Hodgkin has created around 130 print editions, collaborating with many different printers and workshops. Hodgkin thinks of his paintings and prints very differently, especially in the way that their physical presence speaks to the viewer. He conceives of prints as comparatively simple and direct, and has been quite selective in his exploration of printmaking technology.

French and Russian Master Paintings 1870-1925
Royal Academy of Arts presents modern masterpieces from great contemporary artists of their time, which have been drawn from Russia’s principal collections. With over 120 paintings by Russian and French artists working between 1870 and 1925 will be displayed together in an exhibition which surveys the main directions of modern art from Realism and Impressionism to Non-Objective painting. Works will include paintings from these early contemporary artists such as Renoir, Cézanne, Van Gogh, Gauguin and Matisse together with those by Kandinsky, Tatlin and Malevich. I highly recommended this exhibition with such great works.
